Purpose
Meaningful days lead to a more fulfilling quality of life. The Meaningful Day Project is a collaboration between The Boggs Center and the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and focuses on the importance of supporting people with disabilities to curate a rich and full life, not just provide them with “a place to go.” The purpose of this project is to increase the capacity of day service providers to implement meaningful day services that connect individuals with disabilities to the greater community and support individuals to live the life they want to live.
Training
The Meaningful Day Project provides in-person and virtual training opportunities for provider agencies with the goal of increasing capacity to provide meaningful day programming. Trainings are intended for direct support professionals and administrators of agencies providing day services, families of individuals with ID/D, and self-advocates.
For current training opportunities, please visit The Boggs Center Online Registration System.
Technical Assistance
Technical assistance is available in-person or virtually to providers of day services. Through a structured TA plan, the Meaningful Day Project will provide information regarding best practices in person-centered supports, valued experiences that lead to meaningful days, and creative support strategies for both in-person and virtual services. Technical assistance includes a self-assessment via the Meaningful Day Quality Benchmarks Measurements for Day Programs tool, and the results will drive the technical assistance plan.
