DSP Workforce Development


Purpose 

The Boggs Center, through a collaboration with DDD and other community partners conducts activities focused on improving the Direct Support Professional Workforce using expertise driven by national best practice. Project efforts focus on improving the skills and competency of the DSP workforce; addressing the workforce crisis by providing education and expertise into ways to decrease turnover and increase longevity; and identifying strategies to further the implementation of career pathways and increase recognition of this critical workforce.

Training

The Boggs Center develops and provides a variety of trainings aimed at improving the DSP workforce spanning from supporting community inclusion through effective behavior supports. The Center also serves as New Jersey’s statewide system administrator for the College of Direct Support providing training and technical assistance to thousands of provider agency administrators across the state.

Technical Assistance

Technical Assistance is available to DDD service providers interested in implementing effective practices to reduce turnover and improve the skills and competency of DSPs.
