Melissa Cheplic, MPH, NADD-DDS, Senior Training and Consultation Specialist presented two workshops at the 39th Annual Virtual NADD Conference on December 7th, 2022. “Assessment of Mental Health Symptoms in IDD” reviewed barriers to the identification of psychiatric disorders, strategies to evaluate behavior for indicators of a possible mental health condition, and approaches to adapt assessment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. “A Collaborative Effort to Develop Mental Health Services for Children with IDD” highlighted outcomes of a capacity building project to meet the needs of people with dual diagnosis.
