Melissa Cheplic, MPH, NADD-CC, Presents at NADD Annual Conference

Melissa Cheplic, MPH, NADD-CC, Senior Training and Consultation Specialist at The Boggs Center, presented “Clinical Skills for Direct Support Professionals” at the NADD Annual Conference on December 14, 2023 in Nashville, TN. The concurrent session highlighted the role of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health conditions in recognizing and responding to symptoms and behavior support needs, as well as serving as a liaison with families and professionals across multiple systems. Cheplic also provided suggestions for skills and practices DSPs can implement to improve outcomes and quality of life.
