We Are Hiring: Faculty Instructor

The Boggs Center on Disability and Human Development at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Faculty Instructor.

The faculty member will direct the work of Boggs Center Employment and Transition Team programs supported through the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and NJ Department of Education. The faculty member will provide supervision, conduct community training and technical assistance, and participate in applied research in program areas, including life-course transitions from high-school through aging/end of life, integrated employment of individuals with developmental disabilities, and community services and supports. The faculty member will assist organizations including schools, disability service providers, and state systems to promote best practices in supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a member of The Boggs Center’s Leadership team, participating in meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Oversee NJ DDD supported Employment, Transition to Adult Life, and Aging projects and NJ DOE supported Community Based Instruction (CBI) and Person-Centered Approaches in Schools and Transition (PCAST) projects
  • Supervise and mentor project staff and students, as assigned
  • Contribute to training, technical assistance, and resource development efforts funded through DDD and DOE
  • Teach courses and/or provide guest lectures in collaboration with Rutgers’ schools or departments on behalf of The Boggs Center
  • Develop and publish informational resources and scholarly articles
  • Contribute to The Boggs Center’s and Department’s mission through lectures, conference presentations, research, and peer-reviewed publications
  • Ensure project staff complete all university-required compliance training, timesheets, and other necessary documentation
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of project team data entry/analysis
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required reporting
  • Represent the Boggs Center on external committees focused on transition to adult life, employment, aging, and/or similar topics
  • Foster and maintain relationships with funding entities Write/contribute to the writing of grants, contracts, and MOUs
