Deborah M. Spitalnik, PhD, Executive Director of The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities and Professor of Pediatrics and Family Medicine & Community Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, participated in the invitational meeting, “Communities in Action: Building a Better New Jersey” at the White House on March 29, 2023.

This half day event highlighted the American Rescue Plan, with briefings from the Biden-Harris Administration and an opportunity to provide recommendations for how the Administration can continue to work with the state, local governments, and leaders in the public and private sectors to create and expand opportunities for all New Jersey residents. Dr. Spitalnik was able to highlight the importance of the increased funding for Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) contained in the American Rescue Plan and the positive changes this is making for New Jerseyans with disabilities and seniors.
