Carrie Coffield, PhD & NJLEND Alumni Present at TASH Conference

Carrie Coffield, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Director of Pre-Service Training and NJLEND Training at The Boggs Center, presented "Core Competencies for Including People with Developmental Disabilities in Public Health Education" alongside NJLEND Alumni and faculty at the 2023 TASH Conference in Baltimore, MD on December 1st. Through literature reviews and key informant interviews, the authors identified core competencies to be included in trainings for the public health workforce and provided recommendations for addressing service gaps for people with developmental disabilities within the public health infrastructure. Co-authors included NJLEND Alumni Colleen Roche, BS and John Palatucci, PhD, MPA, NJLEND Social Work Faculty Patricia Findley, DrPH, MSW, and Research Assistant Nila Uthirasamy, BS. View the poster
