Sharon Lohrmann, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Boggs Center, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Since 2004, she has directed the New Jersey Positive Behavior Support in Schools initiative (NJ PBSIS) www.pbsisnj.org, a partnership with the New Jersey Department of Education, Office of Special Education.
Dr. Lohmann’s research and service interests focus on the design and implementation of a tiered intervention framework for conduct, behavior, and social and emotional wellness. Since 2001 she has served as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions. She is a member of the New Jersey Network for the Association for Positive Behavior Support www.apbs.org and the Northeast PBIS Regional Network Advisory group www.nepbis.org. She is a member NJ Department of Education, Office of Special Education State Performance Plan Stakeholder Group and a member of topic specific NJ DOE past workgroups including the SEL workgroup, the NJTSS workgroup, and the Mental Health workgroup.
Dr. Lohrmann obtained her doctorate in Special Education from Lehigh University in 2004 and is the recipient of the 2009 Dr. Irwin A. Hyman Service to Children Award.
